Sierra's quilt

Here is the quilt that I made for my niece, Sierra, who just turned 16.  This is the quilt that I did as part of a zig zag quilt along with www.mommybydaycrafterbynight! I did have to inform Sierra and her mother that it was not a blanket, that's an insult to a quilter.  Hehe.  This one was a lot of fun to make and I even quilted it myself on the big longarm! I chose the quilting pattern, sticky buns.  I hope Sierra cherishes this quilt for years to come!

Pillows & shams oh my!

Remember the four-squared quilt I made for my DIL Tonja? Well it was her birthday July 11th and I made 2 pillow shams and three decorative throw pillows to go with her quilt.  I was so excited to send them to her! It is so fun having another girl in the family!

Embroidery-Birds

I just wanted to show off my latest embroidery project that I completed.  I have been working on birdie for a little while now and am happy to say that it is done.  Trying to decide where it's home will be, decisions decisions.

Great Granny quilt along!

I won 2 1/2" batik strips last spring at quilt camp and decided that I am gonna make some granny squares with them! Can't wait to see how they turn out! Not going to use white though for my background, not sure what color yet!

Sewing with a view!

I drug my sewing machine all the way up to my bedroom on Saturday just so I could sew outside on my balcony and look at this gorgeous view.  I am currently on a quilt along with http://www.mommybydaycrafterbynight.com/ doing her zigzag quilt.  I didn't get as far as I wanted on the quilt because lo and behold I had to do some chores.  Darn!

Four Squared!

Just wanted to share my excitement with you all! This is the quilt that I made for my new daughter-in-law, Tonja. She likes the colors pink, yellow, and orange and likes to decorate more modern so this is what I came up with! My son even liked it:) I had to ship it off to North Carolina where they are now living. I thought it looked pretty nice on my bed and wanted to keep it, he he! I got the pattern from Moda Bake Shop and it was designed by Aunt Polly's Porch, here is the link: http://www.modabakeshop.com/2012/02/four-squared-quilt.html
